Ghost Stories is a cooperative game by Antoine Bauz, the author of which was inspired by his favorite Chinese B-movies. If we talk about such films of American cinema, then zombies and a sea of blood pop up in our heads. In Chinese trash culture, zombies are replaced with ghosts. The essence of the game is simple. The border between the world of the living and the dead has become blurred, and from the four outskirts of the village of nine huts, ghosts plague the village, some of which can appear in person to ordinary people - such ghosts take over houses, driving frightened residents out into the street.
The village is protected by four brave Taoist monks, who from turn to turn either move around the village, or ask for help from the residents, or try to expel some ghost back to the underworld. This continues until the ghosts capture most of the village, thus finding the ashes of their master and bringing him back to life, or get rid of the monks; or until the monks wait for the incarnation of Wu-Feng to appear and drive him back to hell. The game has several difficulty levels, but even the simplest of them, with the good name “dedication,” is a tough nut to crack for a beginner.
In general, the game is a “crisis management” and takes place in the form of a brainstorming session, when every turn all participants try to find the optimal scenario for the development of events.
