"Legend has it that among the bamboos of Ueno Park hides a sumo wrestler that bears a terrible curse. His insatiable hunger led him to devour the offerings of an ancient temple and spirits cast a spell on him, turning him into a panda. If you happen to find him, stay calm, move away slowly, and, above all, don't feed the panda!"
A diet of bamboo shoots isn't going to cut it for Ozeki Panda. Our big boy is going to need a big helping of Chanko Nabe (sumo stew) followed by a leisurely nap to maintain his ample girth.
The very chubby Ozeki Panda is the second release in QMx's Qrew Art Vinyl. Sporting an iconic topknot, prayer beads and mawashi (loincloth), our hefty hero stands ready to face the next rikishi challenger in a traditional sumo match.
This original sumo panda design joins Soup Dragon in the Chu! Collection, which celebrates Japanese pop culture with original designs created by some of the most promising artists on the vinyl scene today. Ozeki Panda is offered in a numbered limited edition and comes with a certificate of authenticity display plaque, an authentication stamp and premium packaging.
